Select Your Blog Summary Style

You can use the common style of adding your own “Read More” button wherever you want it to split your post into a summary, or you can set it to be an excerpt. The excerpt is a preset that grabs a specific word count from your post and uses this as your blog post summary. One thing to note is that excerpts will strip all formatting from the summary; this is a WordPress function. When viewing the full post, your formatting will appear.

Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Theme Options >> Blog Settings

Look for the Blog Summary Type setting and select the Post Excerpt option.
